Glenmorangie The Taghta

Tasting Note :

Nose: Starts quite salty with salted brazil nuts, and a certain saline-y note, but nicely balanced with caramel and some dried fruit notes (though not very sweet), some toasted oak, and orange peel too.
Palate: Full body, with initial sweet caramel and fudge, on top of oranges. the palate certainly feels sweeter than the nose, and less salty, although you can detect hints of salt, mainly in the finish. It’s not hugely vinous but you can certainly feel the wine-y tannins and notes out there. The Manzanilla is there, no doubt
Finish: The long aftertaste is rich, mellow and soothing, with flavours of toffee, caramel, chocolate and dates.

"For two years, Glenmorangie and has poured their passion, skill and dedication into the creation of an unparalleled new single malt whisky. Throughout this time everyone could help craft the whisky by voting in five different stages; Liquid, Name, Packaging, Beauty shot, and Launch location. These elements were created by brand experts but inspired in suggestions sent by anyone taking part in the campaign. Crafted by Glenmorangie and inspired by you, Glenmorangie Taghta is finally complete. Order your bottle today and own an exclusive drop of whisky history."

Glenmorangie Bacalta - Private Edition 8

The eighth release from the Private Edition collection. It has been created from Glenmorangie matured in former bourbon casks and then extra-matured in casks baked under the sun that were once filled with Malmsey Madeira wine. Through Glenmorangie Bacalta, an uncommon wood finish reaches new heights of complexity.

On the nose the overall sensation is sweet: there are inviting aromas of ripe apricots, then mineral notes followed by white chocolate. A little water brings out an aged-Balsamic tone, malty biscuits even. Its taste initially suggests mint toffee, then come baked fruits, honeycomb, almonds and dates. There is marzipan, white pepper and juicy honeydew melon. The finish is of rich syrup, caramelised citrus and pear, creamy fudge too, with a subtly appealing menthol sensation in the background. Glenmorangie Bacalta is a whisky of almost endless complexity.

Dalmore King Alexander III

Tasting Nose :
Nose:  Malty and utterly Dalmore. Seville orange zest, Parfait Amour, malty cereal, barley and chocolate. Creamy vanilla fudge, tropical fruit with a vaguely vinous quality.
Palate: Medium, rounded. Winter berries, spice, zesty orange. Liqueurs emerge; Gran Marnier, kirsch and Frangelico.
Finish: Peppery with well-integrated oak and the claret makes a last minute appearance.

Glenmorangie Companta - Private Edition

Tasting Note :

Nose: Heady, fruity nose with notes of chocolate and spice. Then comes an umami-like delivery of truffles and the forest floor. Bill specifically wanted this character to shine through in the whisky, and it does, beautifully. The typical red berry notes arrive a little later, developing slowly with hints of toasted almond.

Palate: Huge palate, far “bigger” than one would expect from the abv. There is a massive spice note, then something akin to chewing on pipe tobacco – sweet and savoury all at once. Black pepper comes through in a big way. Hints of sherbet, ginger, stewed prunes and then molasses. It’s quite chocolatey too, and tremendously complex.

Finish: Sweet, very long finish with hints of clove oil on the tail. A hint of muscovado sugar develops, a touch of chestnut mushroom too. It remains oily and mouth-coating for minutes.

Price £199.99

Glenmorangie 25 Year Old

Tasting Note :
Nose: The first impression is of dried fruits - blackberries, cherries, plums and dates interwoven with chocolate and coffee.
Palate: Big and full-flavoured. Deep forest fruits burst on the tongue with mouth-watering blackberries and redcurrants emerging with bramble jelly.
Finish: Long and gentle, with brambles and warming spices.
