Herzog Late Harvest Chenin Blanc

Full-bodied and delightfully not too sugary but sweet, with fruity honey, apricot and floral aromas.
The grapes for this wine were harvested from the Ehrhardt block of the Herzog Vineyard. This two acre block of Chenin Blanc grapes are unique for three reasons. First, it receives the utmost care and maintenance throughout the year, especially during harvest. Secondly, the grapes in this block were allowed to ripen to the fullest extent, thereby maximizing sweetness. And thirdly, these grapes were harvested very late in the season to provide a uniquely luscious Late Harvest wine characteristic.

Specially selected grapes were cultivated at the renowned and historic To Kalon vineyards in Napa Valley. These grapes offer significant terroir from one of the world's best-known and historic vineyards. Aromas of currant, cassis, black cherry, and cedar followed by rich flavors of fruit and toasty oak. Full-bodied with well-balanced tannins. For six generations, the Herzog family produced award-winning, quality wines in their native Czechoslavakia. Since moving to the United States in 1948, that tradition has continued under the seventh and eighth generations, with a commitment to excellence undiminished by time. The winery is named after Philip Herzog who, in his position as exclusive supplier of wines to the Emperor Franz Joseph, was awarded the title of Baron in the late 1800s.
