A full bodied and elegant Bordeaux, Chateau Haut Condissas Medoc. blended from a mix of 60% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Dry with fruity aromas and a medium finish. Cultivated for excellence and to be enjoyed with veal and chicken
Expressive, full-flavored and dense. Surprising range of red fruits, with great finesse without being jam-like.
The grapes are hand-picked into small crates. They are then manually destemmed and put uncrushed into small wooden vats by gravity flow. Pre-fermentation maceration is followed by manual punching down of the cap. The wine is run off directly via gravity into new French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and ageing. Yield: 25-30 hectolitres per hectare.
Constructed in 1825 on the ruins of a flour mill, the Phare de By (By Lighthouse) is located 300 metres from Gironde, on land 15 meters above water level, where vines have been cultivated for centuries. At the heart of a 94-hectare family estate stands the Château de La Tour de By, the gem of Médoc elegance constructed in 1876 by Monsieur Rubichon, son-in-law of the Count of Grammont. But after being resold at the start of the 1960s to a member of parliament, Monsieur Kaskoreff, the estate was almost abandoned. Its renaissance would come in 1965 when three repatriates returning from Tunisia acquired it. Amongst them, Marc Pagès, an agronomic engineer by training, intended to restore the estate to its former glory. The following year, he met Professor Émile Peynaud who would shortly become the first consultant oenologist of the Château de la Tour de By. The desire to produce upper-end wines would soon be rewarded in 1983 with
Temperature controlled settling. Alcoholic fermentation in oak barrels (new or one year-old). Racking on a regular basis.

Smell: Intense, complex nose. The seductive candied honey and orange notes emerge first, then secondary aromas of almond, apricot and vanilla appear.
Taste: Smooth, impressively dense flavor, with notes of orange and apricot. Beautiful enduring length. The essence of the grape. This wine is an example of the excellence of Sauternes wines: powerful, structured and elegant, with notes of fruits and intense flowers, with great aging possibilities.
