Very pretty ruby color with purple reflections.
The nose reveals a lot of complexity and finesse.
Marked with notes of ripe fruit, then evolving on spiced and roasted notes.
The attack in the mouth is fleshy and unctuous, the medium is generous but well balanced. A good texture accompanied by a beautiful vivacity, bring to this wine a real capacity of aging.

Benjamin de La Tour de By
Constructed in 1825 on the ruins of a flour mill, the Phare de By (By Lighthouse) is located 300 metres from Gironde, on land 15 meters above water level, where vines have been cultivated for centuries. At the heart of a 94-hectare family estate stands the Château de La Tour de By, the gem of Médoc elegance constructed in 1876 by Monsieur Rubichon, son-in-law of the Count of Grammont. But after being resold at the start of the 1960s to a member of parliament, Monsieur Kaskoreff, the estate was almost abandoned. Its renaissance would come in 1965 when three repatriates returning from Tunisia acquired it. Amongst them, Marc Pagès, an agronomic engineer by training, intended to restore the estate to its former glory. The following year, he met Professor Émile Peynaud who would shortly become the first consultant oenologist of the Château de la Tour de By. The desire to produce upper-end wines would soon be rewarded in 1983 with

Gevrey Chambertin Bourgogne
TASTING NOTE:
A garnet-red colour with intense reflections.
On the nose, a very gourmet aromatic palette, very fruity, accompanied by liquorice. A few touches of citrus fruits such as blood orange and peach bring a certain delicacy. Slightly toasted toasted notes appear.
Immediately the wine is very charming, silky, velvety, very harmonious, with a slight freshness as a support. Intense but delicate tannins.
FOOD & WINE PAIRING:
The perfect match will be made with meats with texture and taste such as a delicate game with fine flesh such as a doe fillet just roasted served rosé, accompanied by a strong game juice infused with blackcurrant berries. Also to be enjoyed with a roast pigeon served roasted in gingerbread crust, roasted white asparagus and juice.
