Glenmorangie Bacalta - Private Edition 8
The eighth release from the Private Edition collection. It has been created from Glenmorangie matured in former bourbon casks and then extra-matured in casks baked under the sun that were once filled with Malmsey Madeira wine. Through Glenmorangie Bacalta, an uncommon wood finish reaches new heights of complexity.
On the nose the overall sensation is sweet: there are inviting aromas of ripe apricots, then mineral notes followed by white chocolate. A little water brings out an aged-Balsamic tone, malty biscuits even. Its taste initially suggests mint toffee, then come baked fruits, honeycomb, almonds and dates. There is marzipan, white pepper and juicy honeydew melon. The finish is of rich syrup, caramelised citrus and pear, creamy fudge too, with a subtly appealing menthol sensation in the background. Glenmorangie Bacalta is a whisky of almost endless complexity.
Glenmorangie Companta - Private Edition
Nose: Heady, fruity nose with notes of chocolate and spice. Then comes an umami-like delivery of truffles and the forest floor. Bill specifically wanted this character to shine through in the whisky, and it does, beautifully. The typical red berry notes arrive a little later, developing slowly with hints of toasted almond.
Palate: Huge palate, far “bigger” than one would expect from the abv. There is a massive spice note, then something akin to chewing on pipe tobacco – sweet and savoury all at once. Black pepper comes through in a big way. Hints of sherbet, ginger, stewed prunes and then molasses. It’s quite chocolatey too, and tremendously complex.
Finish: Sweet, very long finish with hints of clove oil on the tail. A hint of muscovado sugar develops, a touch of chestnut mushroom too. It remains oily and mouth-coating for minutes.
Glenmorangie Tusail Private Edition
This is thye sixth release in the Private Edition range from Glenmorangie. Tusail which means 'Originary' is made using floor malted Maris Otter Barley, a winter Barley which was very popular in the 60s, but has since been over taken by higher yielding strains. Maris otter was prized for its rich malted character and has produced a malt which is rich ad rustic with nutty toffee, sweet barley, ginger, cinnamon and molasses with orange and smokes pears.

Glenmorangie 12 Year Old Quinta Ruban
Quinta Ruban is Glenmorangie's port finish. To craft this single malt they specially selected Port pipes from the Douro valley in Portugal.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Full of winter berries and a touch of port. A good oak and a little cereal hanging in the substratum.
Palate: Sweet and thick. The port note is chewy and rich with notes of barley sugar and cereal and lots of juicy fruit and berries, a tad cloying.
Finish: Long and fruity and quite sweet.
