This limited-edition single malt from Ardbeg distillery – Drum – was released for Ardbeg Day, during Feis Ile 2019. Matured in ex-bourbon casks and rested in ex-rum casks, this is a funky, flamboyant whisky. The nose is full of ripe banana, pineapple, cocoa and woodsmoke aromas, with hints of fresh ginger, cinnamon and lavender developing slowly. The palate offers notes of black pepper, ginger, clove and liquorice, alongside dark chocolate, rich smoke and vanilla. An intensely smoky, fruity dram, Ardbeg Drum is the perfect way to celebrate Feis Ile.
Nose: Creamy and sweet with notes of vanilla, toffee apple, butterscotch and malt.
Palate: Thick, mouth filling and very creamy, there are notes of toffee, vanilla, bourbon, raisins, rum spices and oak.
Finish: A simple, medium-length finish with notes of rum and raisin ice-cream and malt.

Nose: Light and grassy and slightly stony to start. In time there’s sweet persimmon and nut.
Palate: Pure and very clean. Sweet lime, green fruits then a hint of smoke and a buttery meadow sweet/chamomile note. Light to the point of fragility.
Finish: Honey, lemon and a little ginger.
Comment: Delicacy to the fore. A breakfast dram if there were ever one.

To create the first batch of Tun 1509, David carefully hand selected 42 of the finest casks – 35 traditional American oak barrels and seven European oak sherry butts – from the distillery’s precious aged stocks. All were transferred to Tun 1509, which sits in Warehouse 24, for several months before bottling. This is a rare interpretation of the marrying process and allows all 42 casks to come together to create a unique expression of The Balvenie that’s greater than the sum of its constituent parts.
Deep and rich on the nose, with floral notes, sweet vanilla and orange peel. Velvety smooth to taste with tangy citrus, mellow cinnamon spice and blossom honey.
